Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our siding services

What areas do you serve?

We serve San Antonio and the surrounding metro area. That includes New Braunfels, Boerne, Schertz, Helotes, Converse, and other nearby communities. If you’re not sure whether we cover your location, just call (210) 880-0656 and we’ll let you know.

How do I request an estimate?

Two ways: call us at (210) 880-0656 during business hours, or fill out the estimate form on our contact page. We’ll respond within one business day to schedule a site visit. All estimates are free with no obligation.

What should I expect during a siding installation?

Most residential siding installations take 1-2 weeks from start to finish. The timeline depends on your home’s size, the siding material, and whether we’re removing old siding first.

Here’s the typical process:

  1. Remove old siding (if applicable)
  2. Inspect and repair the underlying structure if needed
  3. Install house wrap or weather barrier
  4. Install new siding panels
  5. Install trim and finishing details
  6. Final cleanup and walkthrough

We’ll give you a specific timeline when we provide your estimate.

Do you only install new siding, or do you also repair existing siding?

We handle both repairs and full installations. If your siding has damage in one area — from hail, impact, or wear — a repair might be all you need. We’ll inspect the damage and give you an honest assessment of whether repair or replacement makes more sense for your situation.

What’s the difference between vinyl siding and fiber cement?

Vinyl siding costs less upfront and requires minimal maintenance. It’s available in many colors and styles. The tradeoff is it’s less durable than fiber cement and can crack or warp in extreme conditions.

Fiber cement (like James Hardie) costs more initially but lasts longer and holds up better against hail, wind, and sun. It resists rot, fire, and insects better than vinyl. It does require repainting every 10-15 years.

Which one’s right for you depends on your budget, how long you plan to stay in the home, and your priorities around maintenance and durability.

How long does siding typically last?

It depends on the material:

  • Vinyl siding: 20-30 years with proper maintenance
  • Fiber cement: 30-50 years with periodic repainting
  • Wood siding: 15-30 years depending on maintenance

These are general ranges. Actual lifespan depends on installation quality, climate exposure, and how well the siding is maintained.

Can you match my existing siding for a repair?

Sometimes. If your siding is a common style and color that’s still manufactured, we can usually source matching material. For older or discontinued products, we’ll do our best to find a close match.

If we can’t match it exactly, we’ll discuss your options — which might include replacing a full wall section with new material to avoid a visible patch.

Do you handle siding damage from storms?

Yes. Storm damage — especially from hail — is common in the San Antonio area. We’ll inspect the damage, document it for insurance purposes if needed, and provide a repair or replacement estimate.

If you’re filing an insurance claim, we can work with your adjuster to ensure the scope is accurate.

How do I know if my siding needs to be replaced?

Common signs your siding needs replacement:

  • Cracks, holes, or warping in multiple areas
  • Rot or soft spots (especially with wood siding)
  • Fading or discoloration that can’t be cleaned
  • Water damage or moisture inside your walls
  • Significantly higher energy bills (siding no longer insulating properly)

If you’re seeing any of these issues, call (210) 880-0656 and we’ll assess the condition.
